June, halfway through the year, longest day coming up, so let us hope for some good weather to enjoy these longer evenings. The Club is now in full swing for Bowls on the green, roll ups take place every Wednesday afternoon weather permitting of course, so if you would like to come and try this very leisurely sport, then do contact our secretary. The Snooker League has now finished for the summer and will reopen in September. The team have had a very successful year, and have finished in a very good position, given that the two divisions amalgamated this year, so they were playing against some heavy opponents. We continue to welcome new people to the Club, where we offer a friendly atmosphere with chat and cake on a Wednesday. We vary the Saturday programme trying to take in any significant dates and celebrate them accordingly. This month we will be celebrating 80th Anniversary of D Day, that’s June 8th , with appropriate food and clothing, and June 19th is International Picnic Day, so tea on the lawn. If you like Chocolate Pudding, then Wednesday 26th is the day for you to come along. Sat 29th will be a Darts/Cards night. Traditional pub games. Bar Quizzes on 1st and 22nd with takeaway option from the Royal in the village. Our Bar has very competitive prices. For example, a glass of wine is just £3, and beer or lager start at just £2.00. Soft drinks available also, plus tea/coffee/choc.
